Bloodline Mystery Tour – September 2010

The team that brought you the film Bloodline has organized a one-in-a-lifetime tour of Renne-le-Chateau (the Church of Mary Magdalene) in France. Learn more below and click through to find out how you can be a part of it!

Rennes-le-Chateau, France
Autumn Equinox
September 19—25, 2010

A place of beauty, mystery and pilgrimage…a place of potent earth energies…a place of intrigue and questions, history and treasure. Why did Dan Brown, author of The Da Vinci Code, use the mystery of Rennes-le-Chateau as the underlying basis of the bestselling novel of all time? Why does Henry Lincoln call this “The Holy Place? And why do people from around the world flock to this tiny, remote village?

What is the real secret of this magical place? Why did Abbé Sauniére leave so many clues behind in the Church of Mary Magdalene? Who was his “housekeeper” Marie Dénarnaud and what secrets of Rennes did she take to her grave?

What exists beneath this infamous hill of ancient interest? Is it healing water enhanced with special properties? Water that could lead to an alchemical process so powerful that its use was prohibited at all costs, even when the village itself was ablaze?

Is this the burial place of Jesus and Mary Magdalene, as legend holds? And if so, why there? Of all the places on earth, why is Rennes-le-Chateau considered such a strong possibility? (more…)

BWP brings home 2 COVR Awards from INATS

For the thirteenth consecutive year, COVR’s Visionary Awards were presented at the INATS banquet on June 26th, 2010.  Both our marketing manager, Danielle Marshall, and one of the co-owners, Richard Cohn, were on-hand for the ceremony, along with some of our favorite booksellers at a banquet table.

The Visionary Awards are judged by retailers and seasoned professionals who evaluate each title based upon content, presentation, and their own knowledge of the industry, as a guide to what best represents metaphysical, mind/body/spirit books, music, and products with positive energy and flair.

We were thrilled by the results–two winners and three runners-up!

2010 COVR Visionary Awards for Beyond Words Publishing:.

The COVR winners are in bold.  All others are “runners-up.” We would like to thank all involved, especially our award winning author and filmmakers!

The Global Coherence Initiative and the Oil Spill

As news hits that Top Kill has failed to plug the oil spill, folks aren’t quite sure what to do next. Worries over the approaching hurricane season fuel more concerns over the impact the oil slick may have, and thoughts of waiting until August for any further attempts to fix the leak leaves many of us with jaws on the floor, speechless.

While I believe that the Earth is much older and wiser than any of us, that she can heal in her own sweet time and at her own pace, and that she will endure no matter what, I also began wondering what I could do.

I could give offerings and ask forgiveness for my human brothers and sisters who are making such grievous mistakes.

I could learn from my own mistakes, and make choices and take actions that would have me living in much better alignment with the Earth. I could change my ways, let go of systems that don’t work, and begin living in a more sustainable and honorable way. And then teach my children that, and speak about it to others so they may feel inspired to do the same. (more…)

Brian’s Staff Pick

My favorite Beyond Words DVD is Everest: A Climb For Peace. It’s an incredible story of 9 “peace climbers” from differing faiths and cultures who put aside their differences to make a team to climb Mt. Everest. There is amazing interplay amongst the climbers as they discuss their beliefs and differences, and the footage of them climbing Everest is truly spectacular. The film is narrated by Orlando Bloom, and each time I watch it, I am left with the feeling that peace on earth may actually be possible.

New Maya Yoga DVDs with Nicki Doane

Hey Yoga fans — check out our new DVDs by Maya Yoga teacher Nicki Doane. Although rooted in Ashtanga, Nicki’s teaching goes beyond the traditional. Her classes combine asana, pranayama, philosophy, and poetry. The emphasis is on awareness: creating integrity within each pose that can be carried beyond the mat into daily life.  Nicki and her partner Eddie have created an amazing studio on their rustic property on the north shore of Maui where they offer yoga retreats and teacher trainings throughout the year.

Nicki is frequently featured in Yoga Journal, and our resident Shaman AND yoga teacher, Rachel, was very eager to work with Nicki on a Beyond Distribution project. Rachel’s dream came true, and here with have the Maya Yoga series! Personally, I really like that the DVDs offer a choice of a 20, 30, or 45-minute practice. To me, that is my week’s yoga practice; 20 minutes on Monday night, 30 minutes on Wednesday,  and finally a 45 minute practice on the weekend. Okay — so it doesn’t always work out as perfectly timed as that, but therein lies my life…

The Living Matrix is AMAZING..!!

The Living Matrix

The Living Matrix

OK..  I have been into healing and energy for a long time.  Even in my design days I knew that children would surround themselves with certain colors that they needed for healing,  this DVD takes healing to a whole new dimension and affirms the knowledge that I do have the power to heal, myself and others, or at least contribute to all of the above…  You have got to see this one..!!!

The LA Premiere of The Living Matrix

Last night was the Los Angeles Premiere of The Living Matrix at the Egyptian Theatre, and I was lucky enough to fly down and attend. It was a sold-out event and I was delighted to be accompanied by interfaith minister, celebrity astrologer, and spiritual counselor Dr. Craig Martin (whose book Elemental Love Styles we will publish in February 2010 incidentally!).

The reaction to the film was fantastic and the credits were treated to a standing ovation. You might be aware (and Rachel blogged about it here) that The Living Matrix features the noetic scientists, their research and the new science of healing, all of which play a key role in Dan Brown’s new bestseller The Lost Symbol.
